scousers slip with stoke shambles

Thanks Mr. Hodgson

after a terrible display at the Britania stadium liverpool fans are really starting to wonder if things could get any worse, from hero's to zero's in the space of a week.

hero's

Stoke's Ricardo Fuller
zero's

The proformance against stoke was the worst game of football i have seen this season, there was no desire in any of the players to win the game or even to show that they care for the club.

investment

NESV must invest big if liverpool are ever to compete in the big time again. But first liverpool football club need to shift the dead wood or the club will be stuck in this spiral towords the foot of the table.
players like Konchesky, Skrtle, johnson, poulsen, cole, maxi, jovanovic and bable
They are not players who have showed talent and potential, and they need to be moved on rather than hold the club back.
But this year players like Lucas and N'gog have really come of age, lucas has showed he can play football and has matured as a footballer, and also david N'gog has showed he can find the back of the net.
liverpool need to take a big step forward if they are ever to play in the champions league again let alone win their 19th league title.

will NESV put money in, only time will tell.
fingers crossed

Liverpool Vs. Napoli Preview

As Napoli make the trip over to anfield, we ask ourselves what sort of side Mr. Hodgson will put out. So far in the europa league Roy has played a second rate side, with lots of players from the reserves and the occasional bench warmer (Ryan Babel). But the Liverpool manager has said he will field a strong team, even if it risks more injurys to key players.

liverpool will be without Joe Cole (hamstring), Dirk Kuyt (ankle) and Daniel Agger (calf). Also Sotirios Kyrgiakos was pulled out of training after complaining of a groin problem, the reds fans will have to wait and see if he will feature in the game, after showing what he can do in recent games.

A player who has really impressed this term is David N'gog, who is liverpools top scorer this season in all competitions with 7 goals.
David will be looking to get some time on the pitch in tomorrows game and hope to add to his already impressive tally.

The Group

Liverpool currently top group K with 5 points, and Napoli are just behind in 2nd place with 3 points.
FC Utrecht and Steaua Bucharest are 3rd and 4th respectivly with 3 and 2 points. So if results go liverpools way and they get the 3 points at Anfield and the other game ends up a draw, Liverpool could go 4 points clear of the group with 2 games to play.

Transfer Speculation

9m N'zogbia ?

Wing Play.
is Charles N'zogbia the answer to the problems on the wing for Liverpool, he has been in super form for Wigan so far this season, netting 3 goals.
Liverpool sent out club scout Eduardo Macia to watch the wigan winger, but the pacey winger only had a brief role on the pitch, coming on from the bench.

Niko Kranjcar also a player on the Liverpool radar, the 26 year old hasn't really blossomed since his 2 million pound move from spurs to the south coast, Niko is a player very much like benayoun was at Liverpool, small, agile and nippy in between defenders.
But Spurs wouldn't let the Croatian go on the cheap, they have slapped a price tag on him of 7m, is that too much for a player who isn't having regular first team football, or is that a price to pay for a player who can set up goals for Fernando and Co.

Bolton 0 - 1 Liverpool

A terrible game at the Reebok stadium today saw liverpool dig deep to get the 3 points, a goal in the 86th minute from maxi secured back to back wins for the Merseyside club.
A delicious back heel from Liverpools number 9, Fernando Torres set up Maxi to toe poke home under the helpless efforts of the Bolton number 1.

Liverpool started the game as the better team with a great chance for Torres but he wasted the oppertunity by being far to casual, rather than do what he is known to do; and that is to score goals.
liverpool took alot of preasure from Bolton with the ref awarding the opposition free kick after free kick.

Liverpool Time

2 seasons ago liverpool had a habbit of scoring late goals, and hopefully have re-discovered that aspect of their game. Everybody knows there is nothing better than scoring a late goal, and after watching the team struggle for 85 minutes i was as relieved as the next man to see the net ripple, but can liverpool play that poorly against chelsea and not get a battering, only time will tell.

Liverpool Vs Bolton preview

Today's match between Liverpool and Bolton is yet another crucial game in the Liverpool fixture list, points are desperately needed to claw the team away from the relegation zone.

If Liverpool can pick up the full 3 points today and other results go the right way, the reds can jump from 18th to 11th, And if they can win by 3 goals at the Reebok they could climb into the top half of the table.

desperate to open his account
Raul Meireles has expressed his desire to open his account for the red men. Meireles spoke of his disappointment not to get on the score sheet against Blackburn, "I had some opportunities to score against Blackburn including a great chance in the first half, but the most important thing for me is the team and the victory,"

Meireles has been an important figure in the Liverpool dressing room since his arrival on Merseyside, lets hope he can get off the mark today.

Team i hope to see at the Reebok today

El Nino

Is the big man up front going to start turning on all cylinders and bang in the goals?

He showed against Blackburn that he had some desire back to pull on the red shirt and he tucked away a nice finish to go with a good performance, i was at the game and watched Fernando more than i did the ball; as i wanted to see how a first class player would move around off the ball, and it was very refreshing to see Fernando putting in the effort again that all Liverpool fans had come to expect.

after scoring 33 goals in his first season for the reds and 74 goals in 127 games, we come to expect a lot from the Liverpool number 9. But are we all starting to expect too much ?

we will see in the next few games if Fernando has turned the corner towards full fitness, and see if he can find the net more often, like the deadly finisher he is.

Like all Liverpool fans I'm sure you are not 100% happy with the signing of Paul konchesky! how is this possibly sending Liverpool in the right direction, by buying second rate players, Liverpool football club should be looking to invest in players that can take them to the next level, not worse than the players that we are replacing.
once a team with great full backs like Alan Kennedy, scorer in a European cup final, or more recently one of the most underrated players that i have ever seen, Steve finnan went about his job at Liverpool by doing what needed to be done and that was defending and and bombing down the wings to get the killer ball into the box.
And on the other side of the pitch we had John Arne Riise, a quality full back who is still playing good football elsewhere, but he should be gracing the Anfield flanks with his pace and delivery and not forgetting the amount of goals he contributed, But now we have to full backs in konchesky and Johnson who to me can NOT defend full stop.

when glen Johnson came north up to Liverpool i was extremely happy that a quality, young, English defender was going to take us forward, but from what i have seen he cant do the main thing that he was bought to do and that is to defend, and i don't see why a Liverpool manager hasn't tried glen on the right wing, would that be so wrong? he can beat a defender and get a ball into the box, so why don't we try him there and see what happens?
All in all Liverpool need to sort out there defensive problems, and i see them coming from both full backs, the club needs to go forwards and we wont do that buying rubbish!
